Tiger Woods Divorce = $100 Million
The Tiger Woods divorce cost over $100 million. Tiger’s ex-wife Elin Nordegren received a reported $100 million in the divorce settlement. Let’s take a look at how that stacks up with Tiger’s various income streams throughout his career.
Nike — $20 million per year
Forbes estimates as of 2013 Nike is paying Tiger $20 million a year to be the face of Nike golf.
PGA Tour career earnings — $121,637,956
The settlement with Elin equates to 82.2% of Tiger’s career golf winnings.
Buick — $63 million
Tiger’s endorsement deal with Buick was estimated to pay him at least $63 million over nine years. That’s 63% of Elin’s $100 million.
As of June 2013, Forbes estimates that Tiger has made $78.1 million dollars.
At this rate, Tiger could have more than paid off the divorce settlement in this year alone. Previous Forbes estimates dating back to 2008, projected that Tiger would pass the $1 billion dollar mark in 2010 — 10 times his $100 million dollar divorce settlement.
