2013 NFL Mock Draft – Picks 1-16 Apr21

2013 NFL Mock Draft – Picks 1-16

Who will be a star? Who will be a bust? It doesn’t seem like any of the highly paid experts can figure this out, so here’s my non-highly paid, but often as accurate 2013 NFL Mock Draft. This draft seems to have a lot less certainty than past drafts making the mock process even more of an adventure. 1. Kansas City Chiefs – Luke Joeckel OT, Texas A&M The Chiefs took care of their QB need by trading for Alex Smith and signing Chase Daniel. They released Eric Winston and seem to be pushing Branden Albert out the door. Joeckel and Eric Fisher are the top Tackle prospects. I would go with Joeckel who played in the SEC...

NFL Draft: Patriots, To Trade or Not to Trade

Patriots Draft Strategy One of these years, Bill Belichick will surprise us all and use all his 1st round picks. One day perhaps, Belichick will even trade up in the draft to nab that game-changing talent. But alas, it is not meant to be tonight.  Tonight, we will drop our heads in disappointment once again as the commish announces the Pats have traded out of the 1st round – again. The Patriots will not draft any of the players that you want them to draft.  Nor will they draft the guys that Kiper, McShay, or Mayock predicted. See Nate Solder, Devin McCourty, Jerod Mayo, and so on. They may trade out of the 1st round altogether as...

NFL Draft: Ryan Tannehill Apr26

NFL Draft: Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill is a fraud. He owes his PR staff a big bonus; he has gone from a 3rd round pick to a top 10 pick in the past month. He is a good athlete, but has only played QB for 2 years. He shows potential but he needs to go to a team that will let him sit and learn, like Aaron Rodgers did in Green Bay, even though Rodgers was much more talented a prospect. If Miami takes him, they have 3 mediocre QBs (Moore, Garrard and Tannehill.) Tannehill will be pressured to play, and he will struggle against NFL defenses, and oh yeah who is he throwing to? Brian Hartline? Devone Bess? and Anthony Fasano? Might as well be Moe, Larry and...

2012 NFL Mock Draft: 1st Round Apr24

2012 NFL Mock Draft: 1st Round

Just to clarify, this is who I think will be taken, not necessarily who I think should be taken, although in many cases it was actually both.  Also, I’m not taking into account potential trades or anything zany like that.  Now let’s mock: 1) Colts – Andrew Luck, QB Pretty much a lock, and by “pretty much” I just mean “is.”  The only suspense here will revolve around whatever Jim Irsay decides to tweet at the time of the pick, and the subsequent quest by the media to discover how much those 140 characters managed to damage the wacky owner’s relationship with his newest employee.  All tweets aside, Luck really...

Picks 1-16 17. Bengals – OG David DeCastro – Stanford - The Bengals will need new starters at both OG positions. DeCastro is the best OG prospect. DeCastro is strong in both pass and run blocking and plays angry. 18. Chargers – OT Jonathan Martin – Stanford –...
