Fantasy Football Week 8 Start ‘em, Sit ‘em, Hail Marys

Sit 'em poster boy after last week's game vs Jaguars

Start ‘em

Last week’s Starts that made us look:

 Good: Freeman, Winslow

Bad: R. Matthews

Average: B. Marshall

QB Rex Grossman (Wash)v. Bills

The Bills allow the 2nd most fantasy points to QBs, the Bills have found themselves in some shootouts this year, so Grossman should need to throw to keep up.

RB Pierre Thomas (NO) v. Rams

A few things here; Mark Ingram may be out with a heel injury, giving Thomas more carries. Did you see what DeMarco Murray did in his first NFL start against the Rams? If Thomas gave you half of that you would be happy.

WR Nate Washington (Tenn) v. Colts

Since the season ending injury to Kenny Britt, Washington has been the main target in Tenn. The Colts are allowing the most fantasy points to WRs this season.

WR Steve Smith (Car) v. Min

Cam Newton has revitalized Smith this season. The Vikings are allowing 274 passing ypg, and the 4th most fantasy points to WRs.

Sit ‘em

Last week’s sits that made us look:

Good: Rivers
Bad: S. Jackson, Newton, Average: Boldin

QB Kevin Kolb (AZ) v. Ravens

The Ravens are only allowing 186 ypg through the air. The Cards are struggling on offense, hopefully you can find a better bye week replacement.

RB LeSean McCoy (Phi) v. Cowboys

The Cowboys Defense is #1 against the run only allowing 69.7 ypg and the 2nd fewest fantasy points to RBs. McCoy could still be a factor in the pass game though.

WR Michael Jenkins (Min) v. Panthers

Jenkins was a hot waiver claim this week, many think he will benefit from the QB switch to Ponder. The Panthers are allowing the fewest fantasy points to WRs so not this week.

Hail Marys (Sleepers)

Last week’s Hail Marys that made us look:

 Good: D. Murray!!!, Tebow, Ponder

Bad: can’t really look bad on a HM, but Da. Clark didn’t catch a pass
Average: none

QB Shaun Hill (Det) v. Broncos

In the event that Matthew Stafford misses this week’s game due to his ankle injury, I like Hill, who filled in well last season for Stafford.

WR Antonio Brown (Pit) v. Patriots

There is a chance that WR Hines Ward misses the game, and Brown has been a big part of the offense this season, already. The Patriots are the worst against the pass allowing 322 ypg.

RB Daniel Thomas (Mia) v. Giants

Thomas has a great matchup against the G-men who are allowing 127.7 rushing ypg. He has been dealing with a hamstring injury the past few weeks, make sure to check his status.

RB Delone Carter (Ind) v. Titans

The Titans are allowing the 6th most fantasy points to RBs. The health of Joseph Addai will be a factor here. In last week’s blowout loss to the Saints, Carter was the bright spot.  With this season being lost for the Colts, Carter may get a longer look. (Editor’s note: not to be confused with DeLone Ranger.)
