The Power of Play and Rekindling Youth

I grew up in North Eastham. The pride of North Eastham is most likely a windmill and/or a lighthouse. Or maybe it’s a beach. Long story short, there wasn’t a ton of action in North Eastham, so we had to create the action ourselves. We wedged firecrackers into the joints of our G.I. Joe action figures. Multiple firecrackers were typically required to blow the limbs off some of these figures. I’m just thinking more about this now and realizing how inappropriate symbolically this seems in today’s world. Does Commitment Make All The Difference?

We are re-naming this site to better align with our mission here. The name Drunken Sportsmen had a place and time I suppose, but that time has passed. So, we’re about to laser off this out-of-date tattoo. If you have any feelings on the name or the new name, please let us know in the comments or at drink@drunkensportsmen.com. You’re the best. Without fear clouding my mind, I feel a burst of creativity — the ideas and the words to describe the ideas flow freely. I would say I’m confident, but it’s not quite that.  I don’t even think about it. I just do. Perhaps this is ultimate confidence, when the idea or feeling of confidence isn’t even present and you just create.  You just take action...

What the Bar Exam Taught Me About Personality and ...

“I believe that one of the most critical factors in the transition to becoming a conscious high performer is the degree to which your relationship to your pursuit stays in harmony with your unique disposition. There will inevitably be times when we need to try new ideas, release our current knowledge to take in new information – but it is critical to integrate this new information in a manner that does not violate who we are. By taking away our natural voice, we leave ourselves without a center of gravity to balance us as we navigate the countless obstacles along our way.” –  Josh Waitzkin, The Art of Learning: An Inner Journey...
